Editorial standards

SalesDots News is a market-intelligence publication produced from public procurement records. These are the rules it operates under, including the ones about automation, which we would rather state plainly than have you infer.

Who publishes this

SalesDots News is published by SalesDots, part of Fixtra P.S.A. Columns are bylined to the SalesDots Team, the editorial unit responsible for the dataset, the classification rules and the publishing controls described in our methodology. Editorial responsibility sits with that unit, not with an individual reporter, and we say so rather than inventing a person's name to sign the work.

Automation, stated plainly

These columns are generated. Harvesting, deduplication, classification and metric computation are automated. The prose is written by a language model from the computed figures, and a separate automated research pass gathers sourced context about the organisations and regulations the data names.

We publish automatically because the value is in the speed and the coverage: five verticals a week across 85 countries is not work a person can do by hand, and a weekly summary written three days late is worth less than a bid manager needs.

What automation does not mean here is unchecked. Every numeral is verified against the measured data before publication, and a column that fails is held rather than published and corrected. The controls are described in full in the methodology.

Sourcing

Figures come from published procurement notices we harvest and compute on. Context about organisations, programmes and regulations comes from primary sources where they exist: official journals, regulator sites, and the buyer's own publications. Pages consulted are listed at the foot of each column, separately from the method note, so you can tell which claims rest on our data and which rest on someone else's.

Where a column names a tender, it links to the notice. Where it names a regulation, it links to the legislation.

What we will not print

  • A figure we cannot trace to the measured data.
  • A number produced by combining two other numbers.
  • Growth claims based on raw counts, which measure our coverage rather than the market.
  • Any customer, screening or non-public information.
  • Manufactured urgency. If a finding is notable, the evidence shows it.

Corrections

We correct material factual errors in place, mark the correction visibly, and keep the original publication date. A corrected story keeps its URL. We do not quietly rewrite a published column, and we do not republish it as a new article.

To report an error, write to [email protected]. Please include the article URL and the figure or claim in question.

Independence and commercial interests

SalesDots sells procurement intelligence software. The columns are produced from the same dataset that product is built on, and we have an obvious commercial interest in you finding that dataset useful.

What that interest does not buy is a change to a number. Vendors named in these columns are named because notices mention them, never because of any commercial relationship. Nothing in SalesDots News is paid placement, and if that ever changes it will be labelled on the article itself.

Republishing

You are welcome to quote figures from these columns with attribution to SalesDots and a link to the article the figure came from. That link matters: a number without its window and its method is not a fact anyone can check.
