Bank Account Registries + BARIS (AMLD6 2024/1640 art. 16)

Description

Directive (EU) 2024/1640 (AMLD6) requires every EU Member State to maintain centralised automated mechanisms (typically registers or data-retrieval systems) that allow rapid identification of who holds or controls bank and payment accounts, and extends these mechanisms to securities accounts, crypto‑asset accounts, virtual IBANs and safe‑deposit boxes.
