Description

eIDAS 2 is the EU’s in-force update to the rules for electronic identity and trust services. It creates the European Digital Identity Wallet (EUDI Wallet), which people can use to identify themselves and share verified identity details or other attributes with public bodies and businesses.

  2. Applies from
  3. Wallet implementing regulations 2024/2977, 2979, 2980, 2981, 2982 enter into force (start of 24/36-month clocks)
  4. Each Member State must provide at least one EUDI Wallet; attribute verification against public authentic sources (Art 45e)
  5. Private relying parties required by law to use strong user authentication (banking, energy, telecom, health, etc.) and VLOPs must accept EUDI Wallets
