In order to strengthen its security arrangements, the city of Niort has a video protection system in mid-2026 consisting of 124 cameras in the city centre and a neighbourhood, an Urban Supervision Centre and a deportation to the National Police. The video protection device ensures the collection, transport, recording and return in real time and in delayed time of video images captured by day and night. It has been built by successive extensions and adaptations since 2014. The city of Niort wants to extend its video protection system and perform maintenance of the entire device.
