LWV Hessen (hereinafter referred to as AG) operates a Windows-based network at its 3 administrative locations (Kassel, Darmstadt and Wiesbaden) and other smaller locations in Hessen with CITRIX as the central solution for virtualization. The AG currently operates a Citrix infrastructure, which has grown over several years, for the central provision of virtual desktops and applications.
The existing environment includes Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, Citrix Provisioning Services (PVS), XenServer, Citrix Policies, Profile Management and the components required for internal and external access. Current XenServer 8.2 systems use NFS-based storage resources on the existing NetApp infrastructure. The AG currently operates two separate Citrix farms (RemotePC/VDI under Windows 10 and Terminal Server under Windows Server 2016-2019) based on locally hosted XenServer hypervisors.
Management is done via local delivery controllers. There is a need for optimization in areas such as profile management, policy consolidation, energy management and hardware actuality (end-of-life risks). 36 months.
