What the buyer wants
Between 12.12.2026 and 22.04.2027, the IBM maintenance contracts for a total of two IBM TS4500 tape libraries and 76 IBM LTO-9 tape drives expire. The maintenance is to be extended so that a uniform support end of 22.04.2028 is set for all components. In addition, the option must be included to extend the maintenance of the systems in addition annually, in each case for another year, until the end of service life of the components.
This option can be exercised by the LRZ unilaterally and without the consent of the contractual partner. The option must be exercised at the latest one month before the expiry of the respective contract period. The decision to exercise the option is based on the budget available and the possibility of continuing to operate the system economically.
