MPI for radio astronomy, upgrading of cooling systems: building automation

The existing automation systems of the JCI, Schneider and Saia brands are obsolete and have been discontinued by the manufacturer for a long time. Furthermore, the switchgear cabinets are partially in a disordered state, since several adjustments and extensions have been carried out in the past. The operational reliability of the existing technology is not guaranteed in the medium term. In the measure described here, the main installations are to be replaced.

Depending on the age and condition of the facilities, an individual concept was created for each ISP. In some systems, only the existing automation station is to be replaced (while maintaining the switchgear cabinet), while in other systems a complete replacement of the switchgear cabinet is to be included. the AS is provided. Short description of the scope:

• Replacement of the AS in 3 available ISP (size order 20 to 180 phys. I/A)
• New construction of 4 ISP, control cabinet and AS (size order 75 to 300 phys.) E/A) Simultaneously with the upgrade of the GA, major changes in the area of refrigeration technology are planned. The new or changed functions required thereby have to be taken into account and implemented in the new GA system.In order to ensure compatibility and production of a homogeneous overall system, all new automation systems must be implemented in the Saia Burges brand. Circuit diagrams shall be produced using the EPLAN software. All new automation systems must be fully connected to the existing management system of type INGA iBMS. Note on product specifications:
• Saia Burgess Controls, PCD3 Power CPU and EPLAN: In order to ensure compatibility with the measurement and regulation systems available at the institute (focus on automation, DDC controllers, schematic documentation) and integration into the existing facility management system, the product specification is absolutely necessary.
