What the buyer wants

The Buchbach market (‘the grantor’) carries out an open, transparent, economic and non-discriminatory selection procedure for selecting a network operator who can set up and operate a gigabit network with a public subsidy on the basis of subsidy law requirements in accordance with the abovementioned directive and framework. Candidates shall have the opportunity to submit a tender by the deadline for the submission of tenders. For details see attached documents.

Industry dialogue and market exploration have shown that there is currently no high-performance gigabit infrastructure in the local authority with an offer of corresponding telecommunications services nationwide in accordance with the objectives of the Gigabit Framework Regulation 2.0 and will be available in the coming years. The regional authorities have therefore applied for funding for a comprehensive expansion of gigabits in the economic gap model within the framework of the guideline "Support for the support of the expansion of gigabits of telecommunications networks in the Federal Republic of Germany - Gigabit guideline of the Federal Republic of Germany 2.0 (Gigabit-RL 2.0)" of 31 March 2023 in the version of the 1st amendment of 30 April 2024 ("Gigabit guideline 2.0") and received a decision on the final amount of the grant. The funding provided under this support programme under the economic gap model (‘the funding’) is intended to be transferred by local authorities to telecommunications companies under EU State aid rules as investment cost aid for the construction and operation of gigabit networks. The same applies to co-financing under the directive of the Free State of Bavaria by the Land of Bavaria.
