What the buyer wants
Both the ZIB and the other eligible facilities have a regular need for IT network and security products from the manufacturer Fortinet. The framework agreement therefore serves to maintain and continue the network and security technology of the manufacturer Fortinet in use. It is therefore not a matter of a new procurement of an overall system independent of the manufacturer, but of maintaining a homogeneous system.
In order to meet regular needs over the duration of the contract, purchase, delivery, maintenance and services are included. The existing network and IT security infrastructure of the client and the eligible facilities is based on system components of the manufacturer Fortinet, in particular with regard to central management systems, uniform security policies, license architecture and interoperability of the existing components.
The integration of non-manufacturer products would, among other things, jeopardize the consistent central manageability and uniform safety control of the overall system, lead to incompatible interfaces and increased integration effort and affect ongoing operations as well as existing support and license agreements. The power is divided into four zones. Other facilities are eligible for subscription to the framework agreement. The allocation documents shall show which entity is assigned to which territorial unit.
